About CCCC

​The ambition for establishing CCCC is primarily to strengthen and future-proof cancer treatment and care for patients. The organization as a center contributes to strengthening the quality within all aspects of the cancer area, which is positive for both patients, relatives, and employees of CCCC.

Herlev and Gentofte Hospital (HGH) and Rigshospitalet (RH) are responsible for clinical cancer treatment of citizens in the Capital Region of Denmark, in addition to specific centralized functions within cancer treatment at regional - and country level. 

​The board of Copenhagen Comprehensive Cancer Center is responsible for decisionmaking, prioritizing and professional responsibility for cancer treatment and its quality in CCCC. 

The two Chief Physicians (Medical Officers), the Chief Surgical Officer, and the two Chief Nurses, from the Departments of Oncology in CCCC, constitute the daily CCCC management. The management strand is ensured by continuity in the organization, which contributes to the Board and the Management being able to make and implement decisions effectively.

​The Copenhagen Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCCC) has a well-defined governance structure to ensure effective management and oversight. The governance structure is illustrated in the image below.

The Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, which brings together over 170 cancer centres across Europe, fostering collaboration to improve cancer training, research, and care. The mission is to enhance cancer care quality​.
