Søjlen

Søjlen is an interdisciplinary project initiated by the Departments of Oncology, Radiology, and Innovation at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital. The project was established with the aim of improving the treatment pathway for patients with metastatic spinal cord compression. The initiative has implemented a fast-track pathway to ensure rapid assessment, timely diagnosis, and early initiation of treatment. As a result, Søjlen has contributed to reducing hospitalizations and aims to further enhance the overall patient-experienced quality of care.

OLIGO-DK

OLIGO-DK – Local ablative therapy of oligometastatic disease

OLIGO-DK (ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06356779) is a national longitudinal cohort study evaluating the local ablative therapy strategy in oligometastatic disease. Patients with oligometastatic disease have complex longitudinal disease courses, and the metastases can be treated with both surgery, thermal ablation, and radiation. Local ablative modalities over time. OLIGO-DK aims to capture this complex picture by using new time-to-event endpoints specifically designed for the local ablative therapy strategy, while also assessing common endpoints like PFS and OS, as well as quality of life and toxicity. The design is pragmatic with standard-of-care follow-up at their usual departments, with toxicity scoring by telephone and quality-of-life by electronic patient questionnaires. The cohort study will embed clinical trials that focus on specific sub-areas of oligometastatic disease.

Pelvic-oART

PALL-ADAPT is a project originating from Søjlen, with the focus on further developing the fast-track pathway. In PALL-ADAPT, a new treatment technology (online adaptive radiotherapy) is utilized, enabling a more efficient radiotherapy workflow that further reduces patient waiting time.

PCCT in RT

PCCTinRT is an exploratory observational study investigating how emerging CT technologies, including dual-energy and photon-counting CT, may advance radiotherapy treatment planning, adaptation, and response assessment for solid tumors in head and neck, lung, bladder, prostate, and rectal cancer.

In parallel, we are developing a standardized method for image quality assessment and evaluation of the clinical value of novel imaging in radiotherapy. All studies are conducted with national participation across radiotherapy centers in Denmark, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and knowledge sharing on the clinical potential of these technologies.
